This tutorial shows you how to make a cobra knot paracord bracelet.
This is the most basic of paracord bracelets. It is made using the cobra knot. It goes by many names, such as the square knot bracelet, solomon bar, genoese sinnet. You could probably find more names for it but we are not here to name bracelets :=).
To tie this bracelet usually a foot per inch of bracelet is used.
To make the bracelet you will need the basics:
- paracord 550
- a 3/8 inch buckle
- scissors to cut the cord with
- lighter to melt the cord
- a paracord bracelet jig is optional
The cobra knot bracelet tutorial
The bracelet is set up by first attaching your cord to a buckle.
The next step is weaving the actual bracelets which is done in two steps.
Step 1: Pass the right cord under the core and over the left cord, making a “4” shape.
Pass the left cord over the core and through the loop made by the right cord.
Tighten. This is the end of step 1.
We now take the left cord, pass it under the core and over the left cord. This creates a “4” shape pointing towards the left side.
Pass the right cord over the core and through the loop made by the left cord. Tighten. End of step 2.
Now go back to step 1 by starting with your right cord again.
Continue all the way down until you cover the whole core. Then snip the excess cord and melt the ends.
