Snake knot paracord bracelet

In this tutorial I demonstrate another classic paracord bracelet, the snake knot bracelet.snake-knot-paracord-bracelet

To be totally accurate, the knots used are reffered to as “reinforced” or “double snake knots”.

This technique is often used to create bracelets, but also works well for making lanyards and I have even seen a few dog leashes made with this technique.

So, what will you need to make this bracelet?

The supplies

You will need the usual:

With these few items, we are ready to start tying the bracelet.

The tutorial

If you are using 2 colors of cord, join them together.

Fold the cord in half and attach it to one end of the buckle.

Then attach the ends to the other buckle end.

With this we are going to start the first knot. This bracelet is not made on a jig, so just place it onto your table.

Make a loop with the left cord under the two middle cords.

Insert the right cord into the loop.

With the right cord pass under the two middle cords and the left cord.

Then with the same cord travel over the top into the loop again.

Tighten. We have now set up our bracelet for tying.

Take your right cord, go behind the two middle and the left cord.

Then into the loop we made before.

Tighten up a bit.

Now flip the bracelet around (the Y axis).

Take the right cord again, go behind the two middle cords and the left cord.

Then go into the loop we just made with the other cord.

Tighten.

Flip the bracelet around the Y axis again.

Take the right cord, go behind the two middle cords and the left cord.

Then into the loop we made before.

Tighten.

Flip around again.

Same procedure again.

Continue until you reach the bottom. You could cut the ends now and you are done. I suggest you do the following before though:

Remove the slack in the cords by pulling on one of the cords from top to bottom.

Then remove the slack out of the other cord. This will make your bracelet much more even.
